Ok Girls.. I've Finally located my dream dress, so a friend and I are heading out to the city tomorrow to check it out.
I've been to a bunch of local boutiques (bay shore, wedding center, village bridal, centereach, huntington) but none of them have THIS dress, so skip ahead.. RK Bridal has one. Now, we're getting on the train tomorrow from Babylon to Penn.. HOW DO WE GET THERE FROM PENN? I'm great in the city, but when I'm rushing.. I get lost, and for some reason, I always get lost in PENN. once I'm outside I have no problem (go ahead, laugh).

Also, can I have my friend take pictures of me in the dress? I know some shops let you take pictures and some don't, so should I even bother bringing a camera?

I've been warned the customer service is 'ehhh' I'm ok with that, it can't be as bad as the one place I went to.

What else should I expect??

Please help me!

and wish me luck, I've tried on way too many dresses and I LOVE this one (in pictures) but I keep thinking that its not going to look good on me! I WANT THAT FEELING!!!

You want to get out on 8th avenue, and follow the path of traffic. You will probably come out on 8th between 33rd and 32nd. You want to head north (again, follow the line of traffic)

RK bridal is on 39th street. So if you are on the corner of 33rd and 8th, go north 6 blocks to 39th, and then you are heading left, west, toward 10th. RK bridal is going to be on the left side, so do not cross 39th street, just turn down it. If you get to a parking lot you just passed it, look for the wedding dresses in the window.


They do not allow pictures in the wedding dresses (from my experience) until after you have purchased it.


If that dress is not the 'one' they can find similar styles. I have not had an issue with customer service when I am there, you sign in to meet with a bridal consultant, then can start looking through dresses. They have them sorted by designer. Pull out dresses you like, they may also suggest dresses.

Sorry, I get lost inside Penn Sta. too. LOL! But you can't take pics in the dress until aftet you buy. Then you can take 100 if you want! Otherwise, try to get your friend to snap off a pic on her camera phone. That's what my sis did.

When I went, I had a completely different customer service experience. I signed my name, was told to pull 5 dresses, no more, I had no help whatsoever from any attendants, including my own who I could not find throughout my dress searching experience. The attendant refused to let me into the dressing room alone or with my MOH, refused to give me the name of any of the dresses (even though I knew each and every single one), and rushed me out of each dress. My best advice is stand your ground and take your time. Don't let them bully you like they did to me!

ETA: And to top it off, the dress I had been searching for non-stop, the attendant told me looked horrible on me! Thanks lady I don't know who only pops her head in to rush me out of each dress!

I may see you tomorrow because I am trying on my dress because it arrived a couple of weeks ago.

One thing I would suggest is to get there early and not bring a lot of things with you because it is hot and very busy there.

if you are really friendly with the lady that helps you in the fitting you, your friend will be able to take a pic...we were.
