X-Post from BHB - Wedding Insurance

I have a friend who (against my advice) has decided to go ahead and plan her wedding even though she's not sure if her FH is going to stick around for it

She told me she's not going to worry about the $$ and that she'll just take out a wedding insurance policy with 'change of heart' coverage. She is confused though if she will be covered for the expense of the wedding (she's paying for the entire thing herself - again ) if he changes his mind since he's one of the 'honorees.'

I have no idea how to answer this question and since she can't call the broker until Monday, I told her I would check to see if one of my super-helpful LIW ladies knows the answer.

Anyone?

TIA

I don't have an answer. i just feel so bad for her planning a wedding all the while thinking he is going to jump ship.

I know - it's awful. I can't imagine. I feel just horrible for her - especially because I think that she's doing it partly because I'm getting married and she's a little bit jealous. She's been engaged to this loser for 8 years - I don't know why she feels she even needs to get married. It will be her 2nd marriage and his first.

I just wish I could convince her to break up with him and leave...

Oh wow. that's sooo sad.

they were engaged for 8 years? that's a really long engagement.

well all i can say... if shes going for it... at least she is protecting herself.

i hope it all works out for her.

wow... thats horrible... just being engaged for that long shows lack of committment ... i feel bad for her in that shes not thinking clearly and intentionally buying insurance knowing full well it just make not happen... i think thats very sad

I think he's absolutely awful....but she doesn't listen to anyone about it.

I would have run away a long time ago. Her family lives down in NC and they are constantly telling her to move down there, but she won't leave him.
