X post from Newlyweds- Help with slow cooker recipe

I want to make this recipe in my slow cooker but I'm thinking of adding broccoli to it. My question is for those who cooked broccoli in a slow cooker, when should I add it? I'm scared it will be too soft if I let it slow cook on low for 6 hours. TIA!!

Ingredients
2 (18 ounce) bottles barbeque sauce
1 (15 ounce) can pineapple chunks
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
8 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves

Directions
In a large bowl, mix together barbecue sauce, pineapple with juice, green bell pepper, onion, and garlic.
Arrange 4 of the chicken breasts in the bottom of a slow cooker. Pour half of the barbecue sauce over the chicken. Place remaining chicken in slow cooker, and pour remaining sauce over the top.
Cover, and cook on Low for 6 hours.

This sounds like a DELICIOUS recipe!

I looked online and a lot of slow cooker recipes that include broccoli say to add the broccoli 30 minutes before serving.

HTH!

Thanks! I got the recipe from allrecipes.com. Slow cooking the broccoli for 6 hours would definitely have turned it to mush!

Definitely! I think maybe it only stays in that long when doing a casserole?

Let me know how the recipe turns out!
