Hi ladies,

I had my hair trial yesterday, and I was sooo excited to see the results. I had really high hopes - I'd seen the stylist's work before, and I from what I had seen, she did pretty nice work. So I was really disappointed when she was done and I looked in the mirror to see a really cheesy looking hair style that didn't look anything like what I was expecting (I felt like a trashy looking beauty pageant queen!)

I tried explaining that I didn't really like the front at all and I wanted to see if she could change it, but she kind of tried to talk me into the style she had done and wouldn't change it. After she left, I was really not happy, so I took the style out and re-did it myself. I loved the way the back looked, and I definitely could not have done that party myself, so I need a hair person for sure, but I don't know if I still want to use this person. Problem is, I don't have a ton of money to keep spending $100 on trials!

Can anyone recommend other stylists that do great work and hopefully won't charge a crazy amount for a trial (or will at least apply it toward day of)?

Def don't book with ANYONE who won't change things and tries talking you into anything!

Ugh that sucks. I don't have any suggestions of a new stylist but I agree don't go with someone you're not immediately happy with. There are sooo many other stylists out there for different price ranges, I hope you took pictures of what you did yesterday so you can show it to others and see if they can replicate it.

Mya from Cosmetic Artistry was awesome. At my trial she did 2 variations of the style I wanted, and then on the morning of the wedding, when i told her I didn't love hte way my bangs looked in the trial (i think I looked like I had a receding hairline!) she improvised something different that I loved.

Sorry you're having a hard time finding a hair person! I definitely do not like that she tried to talk you out of what YOU want. Did you consider just heading to your local salon? That's what we did. They were GREAT as I knew they would be. I've been going to them for years.

I actually am not sure if my local salon that I use to get my hair cut and colored does styling - but I am going to check!

I am using Angela from Angela's Hair Design, her trials are $35 & she is super sweet.

Not sure how much it's going to cost, but my mom is booking a really awesome woman from Metamorphisis. I need to get her card from my mother though..

ditto on this. she was amazing the day of my wedding!!! she did me and all my girls and she was so fast and officiant.. She truley was one of my favorite vendors!!

Who did you meet with? I booked with Renee from Hair Sculpting with Renee. Love her, so sweet and she was willing to change anything I didn't like. Her trials are $85.
