Anyone on this? I previously posted about my anxiety issue and the Dr. prescriped this now with the Lexapro? Any input? If you are taking it what dosage? Thanks so much for any information.

I used to take xanax and remeron for my anxiety attacks. It really helped me.
I decided to stop it because I am now on prednisone and didn't want to mix a lot of meds.
I was on xanax 0.5 mg. For any other info,

When my dad died, 3 weeks before 9-11, I took it, I was a wreck( By 30 my both parents had passed away.)and then to top it off, Sept 11th happened, and DH and I were supposed to go to World Trade Center for dinner, for his b day that night- his B day is 9-11, poor guy, then my freinds dad had a stroke, so I was a NERVOUS wreck. I was on this for a short time, the smallest dosage you can take, and it made me very sleepy and loopy. I only took it 2x, and that was enough for me. I did not like the feeling I got from it. This was just my experience with it.

I've never taken it as prescribed if you know what I mean but.. It does make me very loopy and high! My cousin is on it and has a bad addiction to it now. It's a pretty strong drug but that said I have seen it work wonders for some.
I would take it for a week or so and see how you feel. You may really get loopy the first week or so but it should mellow out after 2 weeks or so.

Xanax is a legal but controlled substance for anxiety and can be addictive. Be very careful with it. It should be taken on an as needed basis and should not be compared to an anti depressant. Anti-depressants are maintenance medications that need to be taken daily over a period of time at increasing doses in order to reach a therapeutic level. After a person has been on them for a significant period of time, they go off little by little or symptoms can return. Both types of medications should be prescribed and monitored closely by a psychiatrist. A PCP generally does not have a vested interest in psychiatric issues as much as physiological ones.

Dont drink if you take xanax either. People do it all the time because you get messed up faster and more intense, but you can stop breathing. And it doesnt take much alcohol for that to happen in some people.

I only took it for a week before my wedding. 1 a day, not sure of the dosage- worked wonders. I drove on it fine - did not drink on it ,but it took the edge off.

I know you guys had no problems, but for anyone else reading it, I would recommend not driving at least the first time you take it. You never know what can mess you up. I've never taken xanax, but I take usually 1/4 to 1/2 he usual dose of muscle relaxer and there's no WAY I cna drive on that stuff. I feel fine at first and then 20 minutes alter I'm asleep,s tanding, sitting whatever. So just be careful when you take any drugs that 'may cause drowsiness' the first time, becuase you really never know what will effect you and how.
Xanax is one of those drugs.. some people (in my experience of seeing people around me take it, not in any medical experience at all) can function 100% on it, and some people are loopy. So just be careful!

I didn't have panic attacks but I was STRESSED to the max.
I agree, I drove fine on it but the 1st da I took it I didn't drive. I wanted to see how it affected me 1st.

I know some people who take it like it's advil!!! I'm not sure how strong it is compared to other things.

I was fine yesterday, didn't even need to take one at night. I have been having really bad anxiety where I was so nervous to leave the house. I had to get back to work so this helped for me, I am not going to abuse it. The Dr. said I can take up to 3 a day and it is .25mg, the lowest dosage they have and I have been cutting that in half. I just needed something to get my head straight for now. Thanks all for your information, it has helped me alot.
