xmas gift ideas for my boss..

he's 35, married, looks and dresses kind of like ross from friends...looking to spend about $40...
i'm stumped! (no ties please

WHAT does he like? Look around his office
does he golf, play baseball, bowl?? Etc......
then you can go online and find a gift for anyone

for example one of my bosses, loves bowling... so I put in yahoo search
gifts for bowlers, got tons of websites that do personalizations on mugs, mousepads,e tc....

You're sweet. I always say my boss makes sooooo much more than me (he's a kazillionaire) that I never give him gifts...nor does he expect one. Given the statospheric differences in our lifestyles, it would be a bit unseemly. That being said, it is very nice of you to give your boss a gift...perhaps a gift certificate to Sharper Image or Hammaker Schlemmer (hi-tech gadget stores), or a GC for movies or Blockbuster, or......
money clip? tie pin? a nice lighter if he smokes (this may be a bit intimate actually), a nice print (for his office walls), a hands free thing for his cell? An orchid? Golf balls? a Gift cert to a golf course?

he loves guitars, fishing, model trains...but i'm not familiar with any of these hobbies so i wouldn't know what he already has/doesn't have...

Well, you could try the museum company store. They have a lot of unique gift ideas, and it sounds as though something like this would be perfect for him.

actually, that last link was for something Jazz, I posted it before you edited. Maybe he would like a guitar strap. My sister plays, and she has a collection of straps. You could look online here

Our office struggles through this every year...what to get the managers for the holidays!

Everyone seems to like the food gifts the best. Godiva's make a great gift. We've also ordered from Harry and David (fruit, gourmet sweets), Omaha Steaks...one year we sent the big boss a clambake for 4 from The Lobster Guy.com.
