Re: how much are closing costs (in addition to cost of house)
IT depends on the cost of the house.. Ours were about 16K

Re: how much are closing costs (in addition to cost of house)
I had an engineer survey my house, and that was a seperate fee from the closing cost. The lawyer fee was also seperate from closing costs. I guess you can kinda add those prices towards the closing costs since you still have to pay those fees as well. Closing costs can range from all different prices.

my closing costs alone are just under 15K. Then you have to add to that the inspection, lawyer, tite, appraisal......

We are doing a First Time Buyer's type loan....I don't think our costs will be that much (like over $10k).
I don't know - I'm scared!

It is usually 4-6% of the price of the house. Ours were 21K

Re: how much are closing costs (in addition to cost of house)
We are closing next month (fingers crossed) they told us to expect 3-5% of house. The inspection and lawyer are not included in the closing costs.
We did an 80/15/5 - so we only put down 5%, plus we asked for a sellers concession. Basically, if you buy the house for $400k, you ask the sellers for 3% concession for the closing costs. So our mortgage will be for $412k - the sellers get $400k, the bank gets the rest for closing costs. So no out of pocket expense (it's built into our mortgage). The sellers have to agree to it - but it costs them nothing!!
