Re: centerpieces for oval tables??

I have oval tables too and I talked to my florist about it and decided to make oval centerpieces. It will be 3 candles lengthwise in the center and the flowers wreathed around it in an oval shape and spreading along the length of the table. That way the people in the middle don't have a round centerpiece butting into their place setting more than the people at either end. If you went with a high centerpiece, it wouldn't be an issue.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to explain.

our tables are oblong/oval too and that changes the dynamics of centerpieces...in my opinion, low and long would work. so we are thinking 1 vase with two smaller ones on either side and then maybe some candles on the sides of those. with oval, you need to think about proportion...does your hall have pix of other weddings?

I am also getting married at the Watermill and have the same dilemma as you. I definitely think that something elongated would look best.
