i think it depends on the style. as a BM i would not pay that price unless what i wanted was extravagant...

All you can do is tell them what it is. If they think it's too high then they can find an alternate arrangment with someone else. Don't stress it - just let them know the info. I've been in bridal parties where we had to have certain hair styles and even had to have certain people do it - and I had to pay. I kind of expect to do it though so it's no biggie. I think it's cool that you are not requiring them to use this person.

I think $70 for hair is ok but personally wouldn't want to spend $70 for my makeup unless I was the bride! HOWEVER, that being said, if you are not requiring them to do either than I think it is fine because is totally up to them. I probably would do both if I were a bridesmaid because (a) i'd want to be with everyone getting ready (b) even though i'd wouldn't want my makeup done I'd rather spend $70 more for the makeup than $40 more for nothing. Did that make sense? Hope so!

The $70 for hair is normal, but I think the $70 for makeup is too much. And if you take that away, the $100 for hair only is a little much for a bridesmaid. JMO
