Re: SO FRUSTRATED WITH FH'S MOM

Welcome to my world. My FMIL is driving me nuts!!! All I keep saying is that the wedding will be over soon and hopefully she will go back to being the sane woman that I knew.

Can you talk to her abou any of this? Mention that your mom noticed people on the shower list that didn't seem to be on the wedding list. Let her know that it is bad ettiquette to invite someone to the showewr if you don't plan on inviting them to the wedding.

Personally, I suggest you don't get involved. Your mom can tell her only guests to the wedding get invited to the shower, not you. The shower is one phase of the wedding planning you shouldn't have to worry about.

Is it possible she feels left out of the wedding scene, and finds the shower a way to assert herself. Maybe you can include her on little things that don't really matter to you and you can let her 'have her way'. A little psychology may be a big help here.
Much good luck. I've been on both ends. I had an overbearing MOH, and I have a DIL myself, with two more about to happen. LOL! It's not an easy role, believe me.

Re: SO FRUSTRATED WITH FH'S MOM

My FMIL made me take off my friends from the Shower list (because there were too many of them) so I took off SOME. She thinks a shower should be close family so I did, I took of some. NOW my mother tells me that she added 2 of her friends to my list. HELLO? I took off mine so you could put on yours? I never even met these people!!!!!!

Re: SO FRUSTRATED WITH FH'S MOM

As a grooms mom, I know what its like to be left out. LImom, we've talked about this a few times.

I have to agree with LImom, maybe she is feeling left out. I have not been included in a single thing through his wedding process. We try and yes, sometimes come across strong, I'm aware of my actions.

JMO: Let her help. What would it really hurt? You said that your mom stands her ground, thats good but by letting her help with the little things, it means alot. Trust me,
