I've heard bad things about Carle Place. I would call the manager of the store to tell them what the sales lady did.
Hmmmm, I may just do that. She was not mean to me by any means, but she was not helpful at all and my mother was doing the pinning back of my dress, etc, my mother was hanging the dresses back on the rack. I was not happy about it - very turned off. BUT I love one of the dresses I tried on and the price is great. What to do....
I went to Carle Place for my first dress shopping experience and yes they were terrible!! I found a dress I liked, but because of the people it just made me not like it. They were no where to be found, they lady never found dresses I wanted to try on. Me and my 2 BMs pulled out dresses ourselves for me to try on. It was an experience. I would never order from there. Also, my sis got her BM dresses from there for her wedding. Needless to say, they lost the dresses and she almost had to find a new style because it was discountinued. They finally found it, but they were nothing but rude about the whole situation!
I went to Davids Bridal first and had a wonderful saleslady and even the manager came over to help too. It was afterwards when I found out my dream dress was discontinued and no one told me.
That scares me. I found a dress I loved too, along with some others online today that I printed out. I actually called on my lunch break today and said that the lady who helped me was nice, but not very helpful at all and I had nobody to pin back the dress (to fit my small boobies) and it was hard to see what dresses looked like. Anyhow, I told her I'd like someone else to help me. I'm going back tonight at 7pm and she made a note of it. Oh well, sometimes you have to open your mouth! They have a sale through the 4th of July, 75 bucks off.
I haven't been there but heard many bad stories - can you take your dress somewhere else for the alterations??
My own experience there was ok. I also went to the Carle Place one. I found an awesome dress that was being discontinued. It was insanely inexpensive, and I was able to take it home on the spot. I havent gone for any fittings yet, and Im VERY nervous due to all the horror stories about DB. I will definitely look into having it altered elsewhere, or at least a differend DB. I heard there's one in the Staten Island Mall.......(?) anyone know?
I went back last night and requested a new salesperson and had the BEST experience. If anyone goes there, definitely request Rebecca. She was awesome. She didn't let me lift a finger, wouldn't even let my mother help me get dressed. She was soooo nice and attentive. She even hugged me when she saw me in the dress I picked. I found the perfect dress and bought it. Another suggestion I'd give is to definitely go during the week, the weekends are insanely busy and crowded.
