I can't believe that something like that could get overlooked, especially since you talked to the priest afterwards. I guess it happens... at least you have a great sense of humor and can laugh about it, good for you.

We never went through with finishing pre-cana, I even spoke with priest after FH called off wedding....YET we are in the church annoucements for the wedding. My poor EX-FSIL get's people going up to her telling her congrats abot your brother...AH THERE IS NO WEDDING.

At least me and my ex could laugh about it, the other day.


I can't believe they did that!! Wow... sorry you had to see that and that people are coming up to your family.... but it's good that you can laugh about it!!! I'm going to razz Father Flynn about it!!!

Hmmm - you would figure they would keep track. I'm actually surprised you can keep in touch with the guy. You are a very strong person !



Now that I think about it they did the same thing to my parents - my dad got fed up with my moms family (he was totally right!) and they pushed the date back to give my mom's family some time to pull themselves together, but the church made the earlier announcement despite the fact that my parents booked a second date at the same church.
People were coming up to my mom congratulating her and she didn't know why.

That happened to my friend too, at St. Ignatius. And her family is very known in the Church, you would have thought they would have been more careful with something like that!!

Im glad you're taking it better than I would. I mean he's the priest guy, isn't he supposed to be on top of this? Wasnt the whole pre-cana thing about making sure you were 'ready' and stuff and things didnt work out and he knows but 'accidently' 'forgets' to 'correct' something like that? beh

Stuff like that drive me batty.

I had a broken engagement six years ago- thank God I waited for the right man! All this suffering will be worth it someday.

Sorry that happened. But it might not even be the priest's doing - it could be the office people.

Yeah, that's probably what happened. Lack of communication, I guess.

I have a feeling that we might b ein the Banns of the church we were originally getting married in. I saw him write it in the book at our first meeting, but we cancelled over the phone, so how do I know he crossed it out?
