um, how do you know she lied. She may not have known she was pregnant. I mean, I don't think you should be mad. I am sure she didn't plan to get pregnant so she could miss your wedding.
I say take things 1 day at a time. Usuallu babies are born early or late, never on the exact day. My FH friends wife was due to have a bby othe day of our e-party. She didn't have it for 2 weeks later. She was at our party at 40 weeks pregnant and had a good time.
So my point is don't worry about it so much right now. This is your best friend and you need to be as supportive of her as she is of you.

Re: MOH Vent, Upset, I don't know..
I understand you are upset and disappointed that she will most likely not be there. - But she's PREGNANT ! you don't always plan those things, and maybe she was trying, but sometime it could take years to actually get pregnant. - I'm sure she feels awful about having to miss your wedding. - But really, she's going to have a baby ! She's not going on vacation !

I have a somewhat similiar story. One of my bridesmaids just told me that they are trying to have a baby. Now, you do the math. I'm getting married in like 6+ months. Ok, she'll be at the wedding but will she fit in her dress? And how much fun could she possibly have? Maybe I'm being selfish but I would just not do that to any of my friends. If it's a surprise! we're pregnant type of thing-OK. But to say, we're trying is a little hard for me to understand.::

I know you are upset....but there is nothing you can do. People get pregnant who don't even expect it. I know it is you big day, but now one of those days are going to be big for her, and you need to lend a helping hand as well. I would talk to her about your wedding. Is she going to withdraw? Ask when, and then ask someone else to be your MOH

Wow bridal salons deal with this all the time they will order extra fabric and make the dress fit. Just because they are trying doesn't mean that she will get pregnant right away or that it will work out. I got PG right away and miscarried then from March until now,and I am finally pregnant again. My MOH was trying for her 2nd baby during my engagement I told her, do what you want I just don't want you to be uncomfortable, if she was there with a huge belly at 8 months or morning sickness at 1-2 I would have been greatful.
I am sorry that your MOH is pregnant and probably won't be there. I would feel let down too, as long as you are not mad at her and will be there for her, I can completely understand why you feel let down. Just because she is PG now doesn't mean that she can't be with you ever step of your planning though.

Posted by randella I Know-- listen I am not like how dare she.. I am just mostly upset she probably won't be there- and won't get to share stuff with me-- PLUS-- I may not be there for her.. it will be a crazy time for both of us.
Well you just have to see how it goes. It may be better than you think it will be. Try to stay optimistic.

I uderstand being disappointed because you want her to be there for you and for you to be there for her since you are both going through such amazing times in your life.

I know she was pregnant when she told me her timing for trying cause it was no more than 3 weeks ago and she is 10 weeks pregnant.
I doubt she lied to you - she really may not have known she was pg, she could have thought she was just late. I don't anyone would lie about trying if they knew they were pregnant, they would not have mentioned it at all.
Or maybe she wanted to wait to tell people. I know lots of people are careful about making baby announcements.

I dont know what to say really about your MOH but to answer your question, I went into labor on my due date and gave birth the next day. I was able to be out and about a few days after ( b/c I had my FMIL to watch the baby) but dodnt really go 'out' for about 2 weeks... and even that it was a little hard for me.

as long as she can make it to the ceremony.. even if she can;t walk down the aisle. I just want her to be there. Otherwise- there will be a video.

She is probably just as disappointed as you are, but very happy about the baby. It's got to be bittersweet. I also think she couldn't bring herself to tell you that she might be PG because she knew it would be a heartbreak. But stay optimistic and see what happens. It wall may work out in the end.

I guess it is not like she lied per se.. it's more probably that she didn't know what to say- we were talking about getting maternity BM dresses. I am the only other person that knows besides her sis, her husband obviously-- and um, all of you!

Re: MOH Vent, Upset, I don't know..
I can understand your feelings 100%--I have a BM who will try to get pregnant by next summer (wedding is next Sept)--but what about an accident.....there is no protection--and the dress size is going to be a nightmare since they are ordering it in a few weeks.
I know its a new baby that is coming into the world, and should be happy times for all--but i can totally relate that as happy as you want to be--theres somewhat of a let down b/c its your special day too.........JMO

I understand how you feel about your wedding, but she's having a CHILD. She and her DH shouldn't have to plane their lives ad their child rearing around YOUR wedding. That's just f-ed up to think that. When I hear these stories it makes me upset. Put things into perspective. Your wedding may be the biggets thing to you but it can't and won't be to everyone.

So my matron of honor.. one of my best friends just told me she was pregnant. Guess when she is due- 6 days before my wedding. I am so happy for her, but part of me is really upset and a little pissed. The odds of her being able to attend my wedding are pretty much slim to none. She is one of the people I was counting on most for her support and help (emotionally) throughout this time. She has told me she will be at all wedding events, whenever she can- and come to the wedding if she is able to. But, it is highly doubtful- I mean at my bachelorette party she'll be like 7/8 months pregnant.
Despite the fact she staight up lied to me when she was already pregnant that she would not start trying until the end of the year.. I am just really upset.
Anyone else have a similar sitch? I mean- how often do people give birth on their due date- and how soon is someone up and at 'em after they have a baby??
UMMM... It could be worse. Not much but I was supposed to be married right now. I am not young-34 and I really didn't want to wait. We had the date set and then realized his sister would be giving birth the week before. Of course we couldn't have the wedding without her. Since I work in a school and live 3000 miles away, we had a wait a whole year to be able to get married in NY. The saddest part of the story is that she lost the baby two months later. It made me realize that there are many more important things than a wedding day and now I am glad we waited the extra time so I wouldn't have to plan a wedding in seven months. I guess what I am trying to say is that things do work out. Once the shock and anger wears off, you'll realize that there is a reason for everything. I would be hurt that she lied over everything else. But what can you do about it now. I would just take some time to cool down and then tell her how you feel. I know it hurts and not having her full involvement will be hard. I hope she can still be a part of your big day

All I have to say- is that I posted this as soon as I found out. I was very upset. And now that I have had a little more time to think about it and absorb and am not as upset and things seem less severe.
For the record, I understand that life as she knows it is changing.. and I am not saying that is in the wrong-- but aren't I allowed to be upset if my best friend is not at my wedding?
I am so happy for her and will support her every step of the way.. I am in no way saying she should have waited or that I am even mad at her for being pregnant...
It just *****, but we will make the best of it and be there for each other as much as we can for the next 8 months.
