I just returned to school for my masters...and had no idea where to start either. I would apply to the school you want...then you can apply for financial aid. You will have to apply for the FAFSA...federal aid. If that is not enough to cover your tuition...you can get school loans from a bank. Unlike the federal loans, they are awarded based on credit rating not earned income.
That is the sum of limited knowledge. Good Luck!
To be honest, I would go to the financial aid office at your school to inquire. They will be able to give you better info.

Re: Question: Loans for college
You have to apply through FAFSA - even the private loans look at this application. The website is www.fafsa.org.
What colleges are you looking at? Go to their websites and then the financial aid page. Some university websites are better than others but it should at least give you a guide.

Re: Question: Loans for college
call or go to the financial aid office at the school. that's probably the easiest way. i would fill out the fafsa anyway as well. the worst they can do is turn you down. good luck!

I will probably go to Adelphi...Part Time, so although my meader salary would get me aid,,,Part Time won't
I have great credit, so that should not be a problem at all.
Jenny-although I can't help with your loan questions, I just wanted to let you know that I just started classes for my MBA at Adelphi last week & I really like the program so far (even though it's still really early). What are you looking to major in?

Teaching - Physical Education Masters
Edit: I am going in about a week to meet with the department head to determine which classes with transfer and which I'll still need. Gonna be about 2 years to finish..do-able I guess.
2 years is definetly doable, it'll take me the same amount of time to finish, but thats including taking classes in the summer, which I'm planning on doing. When I went in to meet with the dean it was great because most of my undergrad classes fulfilled the prereq requirements for my MBA classes & in the business school, even if you don't have the appropriate prereqs, they allow you to take a proficiency exam & if you do well they'll waive that class, but I don't know if it's the same in education. Goodluck & let us know how everything goes!!
