Re: Question about In-Laws

I didn't experience so sorry that you're going through that.

Since you're getting married in 2006 why don't you and FH just take the next few months to relax and enjoy your engagement? Tell everyone that you will not discuss the wedding at all.

Re: Question about In-Laws

My FMIL is one of the most raditional people I have ever met. I am the complete opposite. she gets annoyed every time I don't want to do every little thing that tradition dictates. She was appalled that I was having my dad and stepdad walk me down the aisle. then my mom found a gorgeous dress but it ws black, she couldn't believe that. Plus my MOH is Jewish and she couldn't understand how I could pick a MOH that can't receive communion. Are you F'n kidding me????

I totally feel your pain!!

Re: Question about In-Laws

I've experienced some of this, although I think on a much lower scale. FH's family had all these crazy ideas in the beginning...and still do from time to time, but I've learned to just yes them to death and do what I want anyway. For instance, they keep insisting that we register for all these extremely pricey things and at several different places. I keep saying 'OK' but still all I have are 2 registries w/ gifts ranging from $10-$200.

I totally understand your situation. Just try to keep calm, especially for FH's sake. In the end it'll just be you and him and that's what counts!!!
