Love, Love, LOVE my crockpot. You really can't ruin anything in it! I love it because all meats come out so tender and no chance of the meat being too dry in a crockpot. I made Beef w/broccoli friday in it and today have already started pulled pork. I also like the fact that the portions are large so I end up freezing leftover meals for later on!
I also have a rival

Mine is also a Rival .. with a ceramic dish that's removable.

As for ease of use .. it doesn't get any easier .. just load it up .. turn the dial to either low or high .. and that's it .. at least with mine .. I think there other more complex ones on the market.

Mine came with a small recipe book .. and I've found lots on the web .. with searches on google.

I highly recommend getting one!!
