Re: Charging it??
hi - we both have seperate cc's, but we used mine for the deposit for the limos, just $200 and we took the $$ out of our savings acct to pay it off right away. as far as the wedding goes, we will mlikely only use the cc for deposits, small deposits, under $300. i don't recommend using a cc for everything, i know that is not what you are saying, but I know how hard it is to not charge things when you have the cc on you. good luck!

Re: Charging it??
I LOVE my credit card. I also don't have any debt on it. When I put something on it I pay it off right away. We just got a credit card together for furniture and things for the apartment. We used our own for the wedding payments. We used the credit card for almost everything. It was just easier that way. I didn't carry around $500 in cash for a deposit.

Re: Charging it??
Well, if you plan on using it for your Long Island wedding, you'll be getting your free flight any day now! :)
I have found a lot of vendors allow the credit cards for deposits, but most of the final payments are either by cash or certified check. Hopefully it's 'honest work for honest pay.' Good Luck!

Re: Charging it??
we just got a joint credit card a few months ago - i used it for my dress, and we're going to use it for the other vendors (like dj and photography. but we pay it off every month - we are charging these things to get points (or airline miles).

Re: Charging it??
We did combination savings and credit cards...and paid the credit cards off with the gifts we got from the wedding.

Re: Charging it??
You can build your credit by charging some wedding things and then paying the bill off in full every month. After a while, as long as your account is in good standing, you can call the cc company and ask for an increase in credit and a lower interest rate. I think its a great idea to start building your credit together.

I don't know about the other vendors, but most of the halls I spoke to want cash or money order only.

Re: Charging it??
We used credit cards where we could, especially for my gown so we have some buyers protection and get some miles/points too
We paid the bills off as we we charged since we had a savings plan for the wedding and were prepared to pay everything in cash anyway.
