Re: trick or treat spinoff....Where you honest?

I don't think I ever had anyone just leave out a bowl, but I am sure that I would have been honest.

No, I did not wait for my parents to check. I did not trust them. I know that they just wanted some of my goods.

I'm sooo old ... there was no 'checking' back in my Trick or treating days and never did someone leave candy out to be taken ... ah, back in the day

I didn't take the whole thing, but I took more than one.

Yes my parents always checked, but I made sure to watch them so they didn't skim the loot. I was often reminded that I needed to learn to share.

I was not allowed to have processed sugar as a kid thanks to my holistic/hippie mom, so if I got anything from school or what not it was well hidden.

I never took the whole thing, but my parents checked all of the candy after people were finding needles in the candy corn.

My parents sort of checked - my dad would 'taste test' everything. 'Oh yeah, that one was alright, oooh, this one I'm sure was fine, etc.'

They didn't do the leave the bowl outside thing back in my day but I remember when Halloween died (during the needles/cyanide scare). No one went trick or treating for years.

And of course I egged my share of houses. I am evil after all

I never saw a bowl left out, amybe once, and I took a handful or something. I'd end up with so much cnady anywya, i ddin't need to be greedy.

My parents checked it when i was very little,a nd thena s I got older it was like 'don't eat it if it's not wrapped' and I was like 'ok'.

When I was young was when the whole razor blade in the apple thing happenned, so nothing unwrapped or fruit or whatever was allowed to be eaten.
