Just let her come to the church. Honestly, you can't stop someone from coming. We would like to 'ban' some people but you just can't.

You probably won't even see them. I wouldn't bother bringing it up, it may only cause friction to say something!! At least she's not asking for them to come to the reception. I would just forget about it, you have enough other things to worry about!!

It sounds like she wants her son to see you guys get married. The Church is a public place so there's nothing you can really do or say to keep them from attending.

But it sounds like you should be prepared for the suggestion of having pictures with him at the church.

As everyone else is saying, the Church is a public place & you really can't say you don't want her there. I have seen it many of times that parishoners walk in while someone is getting married & sit in the back & watch the wedding...Like ChristineC68 said, I would be prepared though for the chance she wants you to take pictures with her son....

Don't sweat her being there though....You won't even notice her

Unfortunately, you can't stop someone from coming to Church..........what's the difference anyway ? It's your FH's nephew, he'll be able to take a few pics w/ him, make the family happy and the kid will be on his merry way - As long as she doesn't start hinting that she expects him to be a ring bearer, you're in the clear I think !

Why wouldn't you want your nephew at the church?

Oh no, I want my nephew there, I love him to pieces. It's FSIL's busy body friend I don't want there. I don't really care for her and she isn't friends with either one of us, so I assumed if anyone, FSIL's parents, who we are both friends with would bring him to see us get married - not someone she knows I don't care for.

That stinks! If she really bothers you, I would say to your FSIL 'Why doesn't so and so bring him?' I gues it all depends on whether or not you think she is going to blow it out of proportion. If that is the case I would just leave it be, I wouldn't want to deal with the drama!

Good luck!

Re: What would you do? FSIL dilemma

Funny story! My FBIL got married in May. My FH and myself have been together for 4years and have kids together as well as kids from past relationships. Well his other half deceided that since I wasn't married into the family that I wasn't family! So no one on his side was asked to participate in the wedding except my FH who started off being asked if he would video tape the wedding because they didn't see any reason to lay out that kind of money when we own a camcorder, then FH was upgraded to an usher when they couldn't get enough then upgraded again to a groomsmen when FBIL couldn't get in touch with a brother he hadn't seen in years and yes girls once again upgraded when the bestman went MIA a month before the wedding but don't worry FH was demoted when bestman surfaced Here's the kicker though, not only was she excited because after the wedding she would be the only daughter in law(legally) but when it came time for family pictures: My FMIL asked if they were being taken at the church or the hall because this way if they were being taken at the hall I wouldn't dress the kids in there formal dresses until then so not to get them dirty for her pictures! Well to keep us out of the pictures she told my FMIL that pictures would be at the hall(kids were still dressed nice for the church just not as nice)Once I walked outside of the church my FH asked the photographer and he said the bride requested the family pictures be taken once the crowd dispursed from the church! Needless to say my FMIL was so insulted that she left and refused to take family pictures until the hall as planned. I was also told by the brides mother on the recetional line(spelling sorry)that once she figured out who I was she saw no reason to say hello or introduce herself to me at the rehearsal dinner!
Thought some of you might get a chuckle from that! Anyhow, be smart about it it's your day tell your FSIL how you feel about the friend and just say no! Good Luck
