Re: Would you be annoyed...
Well, your wedding will be first, regardless, so she will look a little ridiculous. She was obviously jealous when she said that to you!

Re: Would you be annoyed...
imitation IS the best form of flattery... maybe she was jealous at first?
either way.. if she decides to do it at the same hall, YOU did it first, so you're cooler than she is!!

I would be annoyed too...how childish. Don't let it get too you...she was problably jealous at first and now she just wants to be like you. You should be flattered that she wants to be like you.
If she plans her wedding there too people will always remember it as 'isn't that where soon2bmz got married first?'

Exactly, won't it totally suck for her because all the same people will be there saying, oh, remember how SoontobeMrsZ did this -- it was so pretty and comparing. She is being dumb.

i would be totally annoyed!! not to be catty or petty, but your wedding will be first, so if she has hers there just a few months afterwards that will look SO lame on her part...
ok, maybe i did mean it to be catty and petty

Re: Would you be annoyed...
My FH's BM had his reception at a hall I adore but even though they will celebrate their 2 year anniversary a month after our wedding we wouldn't do it. You have the glory being first.

Re: Would you be annoyed...
Yeah I probably would be annoyed if I didn't have a good relationship with her.
But I was thinking if it were my sister, or my FSIL - I probably wouldn't care - I would wish them the best and help out.

Yes, I would be totally annoyed and I would probably remind her of what she said to me about the hall.

I would probably be annoyed, but like others said - you are there first, she looks like she is copying and can't make decisions on her own and yours will be better anyway!

Re: Would you be annoyed...
I agree I would be very annoyed. But there is a positive to that. The Sandcastle is an awesome reception hall and you would be able to attend a wedding there. Most brides would love to be a guest at the hall they are getting married in to see what the guests experience. Either way you are going first sooo...na na na na to her! haha

I would have to say that while you may be annoyed, look on the bright side. If she has it there, it wont be anything new to those that went to your wedding. So yours we wow them more

Re: Would you be annoyed...
A relative of mine, who is recently engaged, makes comments like that, too. I think insulting anyone's choice of hall to their face is rude and annoying. However, I chalk comments like that up to insecurity and immaturity. Clearly, she's missing what a wedding is really all about. I feel sorry for her. I would brush it off - you've got too much going on to worry about her insecurities!
