Re: What is the craziest/stupidest thing you ever did to get a guy/girl...Did it work
When I first started working in NYC, I had the biggest crush on the manager of the copy center at our firm. I just saw him one day and was like 'oh my , I have to do something to get him to notice me' But unfortunately, there was no reason to deal with him unless there was a problem with a photocopier on one of the floors, etc.
I would create all sorts of reasons to call him just so he'd come down to visit me and we'd be able to chat. Which basically meant that EVERY DAY I would purposely break or jam the photocopier so that I could have a reason to put in a 'service call' And I'd break it SO GOOD so he would have to come down himself! I'd literally throw clips and put in the wrong paper just to cause a problem.
I did it so often that our copier had to be replaced 2x in 6 months because it was irreparable Funniest part is , he never caught on and would complain how much it was costing the company to keep replacing the copiers
In the end, my evil plan actually worked. We actually went on to date for about 3 years (though it was probably the worst relationship of my life.. if I knew then what I know now.... )
ETA: and the other crazy thing I did to get a guy to notice me was to post an AD online and agree to date some random METS FAN who replied .. oh wait, that wasn't so crazy. I wound up MARRYING him

It wasn't me, but this happened in high school. Picture this - junior year and a new guy starts at school. All the girls start swooning - he's hot! He's also very Christian and the attendance at the campus Christian club quadruples once he starts attending (all girls). Of all the girls he could have had, he chooses one who's not fawning over him and definitely not the most attractive girl on campus and not devoutly Christian either. He gives her a rose a day for 18 days, each one with a different letter attached on a note. When they were all put together, they spelled out, 'Will you go out with me.' Her answer: NOPE.

There was a really good looking girl that worked at Blockbuster. After I had her schedule figured out, I would plan my video renting around when she worked.
So how do you strike up a conversation with a girl that works at Blockbuster? (Duh.) 'So what do you recommend?'
Needless to say, I watched many horrible movies at the whim of a good looking girl.
Never did ask her out. After watching too many Julia Roberts movies I lost interest. Actually, one day she just quit. Never knew what happened to Blockbuster girl, maybe she works at a movie theater now.
Now Felicia picks the movies out. Needless to say, I am once again watching many horrible movies at the whim of a good looking girl.

Ah HA! You are sooo obvious. No wonder you had that lifetime membership to Blockbuster or that 'unlimited rental for as many movies as you want in a month'

when I was a freshman in high school I had a crush on a guy that took the same bus as me (Q17). I would wait at the bus stop until he got out of the F train (he went to school in NYC) just so I could get on the same bus as him. He was a senior and just so cute!

Re: What is the craziest/stupidest thing you ever did to get a guy/girl...Did it work
These are too funny. You gotta feel bad for the guy with the roses. I've only done minorly insane things, mostly when i was a kid. in 8th grade we dd a dance competiton. I'm really short, the guy I liked was the tallest in the class, and I wanted to paired up with him, so I wore REALLY high heels for rehearsals...and then...of COURSE I fell on my @$$! But tha was only rehearsal and we did win the competition!
Later on, for another guy I liked, he had a semi formal at his school and I knew he wanted me to go with him, but it had been iffy all along. I fina;y decided to give up on what was me just dragging out a dead relationship with my ex at the time, and I called this guy up the night before the dance and I said 'Do you know what you really really want?... to take me to the semi formal!' So I ran out that night and got a dress and we had a BLAST. We dated for 8 months. I was head over heels for him.
Also, I dumped my ex pver VOICEMAIL for FH...pretty harsh, no? He deserved it.

ROFL..and the best part is, his cell died, and he wasn't home (cause he was boffing his ex...told ya he deserved it) and he didn't get the message for like, a week. He called me, and I was like 'umm..didn't you get your voicemail? Go check it'
MWAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
I'm telling you, he SOOO deserved it

Re: What is the craziest/stupidest thing you ever did to get a guy/girl...Did it work
This guy I was dating for three months had a birthday coming up. I was REALLY into him and did not want to scare him off with the present. I did not think he was so into me. I had learned from experience that a gift you give a guy this early has to be perfect. Not too expensive, not too romantic- I wanted to appear uncaring and aloof ON PURPOSE!!!!
So, I went to the store to find the perfect gift for him- and spent 8 hours looking for it. I settled on a wine opener kit and a bottle of wine. On the card, which took another hour to choose and fill out, I wrote simply 'Hugs and Kisses, Marisa'. I was feeling so much more.
Did it work? At my one year anniversary dinner, my MIL told me she did not like that gift I gave my DH and that she told him it was non-committal and she told him so when he called in to report the gift. Apparently, It made DH want me more and drove him crazy I was so non-specific in the gift and card. I told my inlaws- I spent more time and effort selecting that gift than I ever had for anyone in my life.
