That is a good line, I might have to borrow it.


I just hate how this our first married christmas and it feels just so 'thrown together'

to much going on.
1- community affairs
2- memorial services left and right (lost two people this year, that got memorials several times already) love them FIL & DH's nonna.
3- xmas parties for me and the kids
4- last minute things for the holidays
5- just to have that little moment to breath that gets interrupted by anyone.
6- time going to fast to accomplish anything

Things that are taking away the holiday spirit from me.

I hate that, even though it was a mutual decision and in everyones' best interests, we will be spending our first Christmas as husband and wife apart. I'm sick of hearing about how this is a time to be with friends and family, when I won't see my DH for a week.

At the same time, I'm grateful that we will only be apart for a week - I know there are military families (and other situations) in which couples don't see each other for very long periods of time.

I hate that everyone says 'it's the thought that counts', but really it's the money

I hate that my family (specifically my mother and 1 of my brothers) have hurt me so much in the last few months that I don't want to spend Christmas with my family, but I have to because FH says it's the right thing to do

I hate 'tradition'
