This is the only reason why I put the little:face at don's comment.
For me I wouldn't want to be with just anyone, and assumed (perhaps not incorrectly) that jenny wouldn't want to be either.

well in that case, I can see that the night has bittersweet memories for you as well.![]()
I hate that there is so much significance put on NYE and the fact that the media/society makes you feel unworthy if you don't have a date on that nite.
As hard as it is, try to remember its JUST ANOTHER NIGHT and the next day the slate will be clean
And in defense of my friends Michi and Don - I think we all were just saying that we don't want to hear that you are staying home alone. Sometimes just going out there and feeling desirable and getting attention from men is a good ego booster, if nothing else.
We all truly believe you are a beautiful girl who has a lot to offer the right guy.
That is evident in your posts and how intelligent and thoughtful you are

I was single for quite a number of NYE and finally on the one prior to meeting DH I stayed in. Most of my friends were couples, and i didn't feel like dealing with watching them all kiss that night...so i actually did rent When Harry Met Sally and drank a bottle of wine...all by myself, then watched the ball drop and went to bed at 12:05AM - too much wine. Now DH and me like to have just a few friends over (single and coupled) and ring in the NY with them...i don't like going to the bars anymore....

ok, I'm sold....so it's not that bad staying home then?!?!
o.k......I'll get a movie, chinese, wine, pickings food, and hopefully stay up to midnight...in my warm-cozy pjs.
I will probably eat less in calories anyway than I would if I went out anyway (I can eat a LOT,,,but I can drink MORE)
