our pre cana was 4 sessions, and each sessions was about a different topic - i think it was communication, spirituality, sexuality, and i can't remember the other one.

you don't have to share anything you don't want to.

we had a few exercises, like FH had to describe a picture he was looking at (it had different shapes) and I had to draw it, to see how well we communicated...at one session, we played the 'almost newlywed game' to see how well the couples knew each other, that was fun (we won).

there wasn't too much discussion. FH and I are both quiet and we didn't feel uncomfortable.

ETA - the couple that hosted it talked a lot about their experiences.

we did precana on a saturday and it was an all day thing with a large group. it was the best thing for us because my dh has various hours and can work overtime at night. there alot questions and group activities and some work book exercises we had to do. the couple that hosted it were mary and john for scared heart parrish and so wonderful
