Re: Oh Goodness, help me...(long)

You poor thing, I feel so sorry for a MIL that can be so jealous of you. It has taken many years and big sighs on my part to accept my IL for the things they do. My DH has very little family and his Dad is the biggest most self centered person I have ever met....but as I have learned the hard way you have to choose your battles. She is obviously doing this to get your goat and your playing her game. Quit. Let her act out and be the fool. If you keep putting yourself on the opposite side of her and putting DH in the middle I promise it will come to a head...and maybe hurt more people then you realize. Let her play her games and don't feed into them. Like I said you never know what the future holds for you and her. As a matter of fact my FIL has pancreatic cancer and guess who is his primary care-giver his son or daughter NO ME! But I am the better person for it and I know what example I set for my adult children. Also the strong love my DH and I have because no matter what I am stepping up to the plate for his sake. That builds the strong relationship for when the going really gets rough. And believe me we have been through it all together....for better or worse. Yes you have a point but ***** to your girlfriends and keep a stiff upper lip around her.

Re: Oh Goodness, help me...(long)

OMG!! We could start a club My mil is such a witch. She never has anything nice to say and goes out of her way to make my family feel uncomfortable. At my daughters confirmation party which we had in a hall my mother, sister and one of my brothers flew up from Fla. My mother kept trying to have a conversation with her and if she didn't ignore her she rolled her eyes up and gave her a one word response and walked away. Then said to me the next day that my mother followed her around the hall telling her what a wonderful person her son was and how glad she was that we were together. So my MIL actually had the nerve not only to tell me this but then to tell me that she responded to my mother as oh yeah you think so! All I could think was why is this woman following me around. Can you imagine? After that my mother stopped trying. She even walked up to my mother and familys table during dinner while Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennet, etc. was playing and asked me in front of them what was with all the Guinea music. I happen to be part Italian and the people at my table were full Italian! I responded to her that this was music that my father(who passed away)liked so I thought for him I would play it during dinner and she rolled her eyes and walked away. Needless to say she made one too many comments recently to FH about me and he caught her talking about us so we haven't talked to her in almost a month and we live downstairs in her house. Wanna talk about uncomfortable???? FM me anytime you wanna talk Im sure we could swap plenty of stories
