I really like the idea of the steel drum band - especially at the Watermill outdoor cocktail area. We looked there and Bruce, the BM, was talking about it. I could totally picture it. But, I do agree that it might not 'fit' if the CH had to be inside.

We are having one at our CH at East Wind which is not on the water. I think it would be ok, especially if it was outside. Our is inside but I think they sound festive.

My sister had one at her outside cocktail hour at the watermil and everybody loved it, they couldn't stop talking about it.

yeah i think it sounds like fun!...depending on cost, how badly you want it, what it's worth to you, etc. it's one of those extras that people would remember i'm sure...and it's the summertime so it doesn't matter if it's on the water or not. Definitely look into it!

I think it depends. - My friends were married @ the Crescent Beach club - they had a steel drum band @ the cocktail hour, outside on the beach. I thought it was great !!
Personally, I don't think it really fits in @ the Watermill, but that's JMO. - Is the rest of your wedding ultra formal or more laid back ? How is your crowd ? - take all of those things into consederation........

Oh I forgot to say that I think it will work if your cocktail hour is outdoors. Steel drummers can play all types of music. I think it's a nice touch.
