I wouldn't bring anyone.

I would understand if the bride wanted it to be her own friends and family.

1. I definitely wouldn't bring anyone. And even asking beforehand puts the bride in a spot.

2. I would completely understand if the bride only wanted certain people there.

That's my last name

I am actually in this situation right now. My Future Sis is law B party is March 12th, I asked her sister, the MOH if it would be okay if a friend could come, she said no problem! it was okay with my FSIL and actually makes the limo, drinks dinner less money for everyone the more people that go. My FSIL said more the merrier! Alot of girls going are bringing people.
But all brides are different. IF the bride said no, the answer is no. I wouldn't push the issue.

I would not bring anyone- but it depends what kind of party it is.. SOmetimes it is just a night out with a ton of people- so, it is less invasive to have a stranger there- although= still slightly weird..

I can be either an outgoing person if I am confortable or really shy if I don't know anyone.. I like bach parties or whatever- cause you can meet some new people that you will also be partying with at the wedding..

So, while I can understand why someone would want to do it, and see how in some situations it would not be as big of a deal- I think it is wrong and a little immature of the person who 'brought a freind'.. I mean- suck it up and meet new people.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! A friend of mine who was invited to my b-party told my friend who is planning it 'I'll make it and I am bringing blah blah with me' So I called her last night and told her that I didn't feel comfotable about this and she said that she never heard of such a thing - and that bringing her friend would make her feel more comfortable. I only want my close friends there, I dont know what is so hard to understand about that.

Well you were kind enough to ask if it was ok - she just invited her without even asking....and plus the girl that she invited isin't so fond of me and and my friends and we are not fond of her either so why would I want her there

If the friend is not so fond of you then why would she even want to go?? I think its rude to invite someone when they arent invited.

Exactly! Why would she want to go? Only explanation I can come with is that she wants to make you miserable or needs to be the center of attention!

I went to a bachorette party when I wasn't invited to the wedding. I had just recently moved and met all of these girls, and one of them was getting married, I knew I wasn't invited to the wedding, seeing that we just met, but they wanted to include me.

That's different though, you were invited to the party.

Here, it sounds like someone who doesn't really consider the bride to be a friend (and who wasn't invited) wants to attend.

If I wasn't comfortable going somewhere by myself and wasn't permitted to bring a friend, I wouldn't go.
