I'm not getting one either, it just isn't really important to me.

um... i didn't even realize i needed to get that! (but are you surprised? i'm the one who has just barely thought of my veil ).

i probably won't get it, because it doesn't mean anything to me, really. but if you think it will have sentimental value for you (like, you'll want to cut a cake with that cutter on each anniversary or something), then go for it!

Didn't get one and didn't want one. I used the cake cutter at the hall and never again thought about it

i got one simply because i want to have it to cut our anniversary cakes from now on...it's no biggie, but i wouldn't spend major $$ on it

I wasn't going to get one, but to my surprise my FSIL bought us the Vera Wang Love Knots cake cutters and toasting flutes...(I wasn't going to bother with them either...)

Maybe someone will surprise you....

I'm going to use whatever the hall provides us with. Unless someone by chance buys us a set. I didn't register of it.

We registered for them but honestly it is not a necessity and it certainly will not make or break the day. The halls usually have very nice ones to use.

I really did not care for one but I found a very nice one with a cystal handle for 8.99 a set

We registered for the same ones. It's not a necessity but I'm sure someone will get them for us. Besides, I've been living on my own for 9 years now, so what else do I really need?

I am going to just use what the hall provides.

I agree. I bought a really nice set with rhinestones and everything (Diva!!!) and the set was $10 I think. I wasnt trying to spend a lot of money, but I did want it for sentimental value. I too plan to use them on our anniversary along with the champagne flutes.

I'm not buying one either. My sister happened to get one as an engagement gift. If someone happens to buy me one, great, if not than I'm not really going to worry about it.

I'll probably get a cheap set for sentimental reasons more than anything else. But, that is probably one of the least of my worries at the moment.

Re: How important is it...

You can find them really inexpensive. I am really glad I bought mine because I have a cake cutting picture and you can read our names and dates on the knife. I'll post the pic but it's hard to see but should give you an idea. I think this set cost me less then $20.00 and that included engraving.
