Yeah. I think it's better to talk to her as if nothing happened

Could it have been a conflict of time? Maybe you stopped getting your hair done to save money and had received a gift certificate from someone to another place for Christmas?

Re: 'cheating' on your hairstylist....
I'm doing this this weekend and I'm VERY nervous!!! When we first got engaged I was certain I'd use my regular girl for my hair and mentioned it to her (this was over a year ago). Logistically, it makes much more sense for someone to come to me but I'm going Sat for my wedding highlights and cut. I feel SO weird

ok, i have a question... have you guys ever cheated on your hairstylist and then gone back to them? what do you say???
when they are like...OH, so where ya been for a year??
FI cheats on his stylist all the time. When he does not go for a while he gets calls from his stylist and always promises to stop by soon. When FI does go back they don't discuss it at all.

Re: 'cheating' on your hairstylist....
I did but I had good reason. My best friend works for someone in the music business. I had the opportunity to have my hair trimmed by the person who cut her boss' hair the night before a concert. I couldnt pass up the opportunity. My hairstylist did NOT feel betrayed. She would have done the same.
I also got a gift cert for about 3 visits to a day spa and on each day they give you a different service. One of them is a hair cut. I am growing out a short cut and I don't want to cut it. I am waiting until the last possible date to use this gift cert and then only BARELY trimming the edges. THEN I will go back to my regular stylist so she can do what I like.

Re: 'cheating' on your hairstylist....
My situation is a little different.. i went to a salon and had my hair done by the owner for years. When she became preganet and was out on leave, i went to another girl in the shop and loved her!!! When my girl eventually came back I never went back, I just stayed with the other girl.... I mean I still go to her salon.....

Jess, when I met Taralei, I was so happy I thought I found my new stylist, but then she stopped working at Racines
I actually really don't have a hairstylist. I get my hair trimmed maybe twice a year. I am actually looking for a good stylist.

I did it but it wasn't so bad because I went back about 10 years later. Overall I like what he does. As long as you tell him what you want he will do it.

Re: 'cheating' on your hairstylist....
I felt guilty about trying to cheat on my hairstlyist.....but, I didn't mind firing her when she cancelled out on my wedding a month before the wedding!!!! I was her client for 5 years!
My other situation: I had first moved here to NY and My MIL set me up with a friend of the family who would come out to my home and cut my hair. She was nice and gave me a nice cut but, I felt that it was too close to home. Meaning, I didn't feel comfortable with my hairstylist being great friends with the inlaws. I still see her around and I was embarassed at first.....but, oh well.

I actually got in the mail a 'We miss you here's 10% off' coupon. I really love this girl it's just that it takes 45 min to get there. I have been thinking on going back. If she says something I'll just blame it on the distance.

i love my new one more than my old one. i go into the city to get my hair done and it costs sooooooo much money because of 'who' she is...you know? so i was thinking of going back to my old stylist who also did a fabulous job....i just dont want it to be akward, and i really don't know what to do i know.......something stupid to stress over but it's my head!!!
If she says anything just tell her you got a gift cert to another place from your MIL & felt like you 'had' to use it. But, tell her your happy that's over with. Does not hurt to lie!!
