yep...and here's a tip...when the cramp hits, flex your food upwards, towards you...this will decrease the length of the cramp and alleviate some of the pain.. I used to do this when I got them during my pregnancy and it helped.

I know this is going to sound strange, but if your bathroom isnt carpeted just go in there and put your foot on the cold floor and it will instantly get rid of the cramp. I used to suffer from these also and if I couldnt make it to the bathroom I would put my foot on the bedroom wall and it worked just as well.

I have also heard that Gatorade may help. I think it may have something to do with hydration?

Re: leg cramps
This is too weird. Just last night I woke up at 2:30 and then 3:30 with the worse cramp in my thigh, or maybe it's called a Charlie horse (go figure that one!). I have had them in my foot and in my shins before, but this is a new one. It was horrible. Forcing myself to walk was the only way I was able to work it out. I went to the gym last Tues, Wed and Thurs. and not again til yesterday. I was thinking maybe I shouldn't skip so many days. Potassium and hydration - both very interesting ideas. I'm going to have a banana with a big glass of water right now.

Re: leg cramps
I freaked out my college roommate when I got these. I also find if I can get through the pain to reach down to my leg and massage the area where the cramp is, it will go away pretty quickly.

You may be vitamin deficient. If the problem persists, ask your doc to look into it by checking your blood work the next time you go. That happened to me.

Also make sure that you are drinking tons of water. They may be a result of dehydration.
