I think number 2, just because you can never have enough with a baby.. I'd get things in different sizes some for newborns and some for 3 to 6 months, etc

As a new mom I would love to have recvd #2. I recvd sooooo many bath products and a ton of wash cloths at my shower. I could have used a TON more onsies and sleepers. Another good idea is to by 3-6 months or 6-9 b/c people usually get the smaller sizes so down the road they will totally come in handy.
