Although I don't like seafood, my friends LOVE the Blue Honu in Huntington Village.

Re: Any unique/worthwhile restaurants on LI?
Depends on what you like
I love
Zen palate - vegetarian asian fusion
Houstons - burgers, fish, salads, soup..really american food, but upscale and nice. GREAT psinach dip
Vincent's - italian food. VERY good!
Cheeburger Cheeburger - hamburger joint, but they have over 20 toppings and it's just fun to go there
There's nothing else we really love on LI.

Waterzooi is fantastic. It's on Franklin Ave in Garden City. The have these spectacular mussel pots, there are like 15 different ones. My favorite is the Homard. There are at least 4 dozen mussels in a lobster sauce with big chunks of lobster throughout..it's one of the best things I've ever put in my mouth!!! Plus the have fondue and other interesting items on there menu. The have lot's of specialty drinks and martinis,an excellent selection of wines, and about 90 different types of beer. I love the decor as well it's looks like a very trendy lounge but not to pompous it's relaxed and comfy. I love it there FI hates it, but then again his favorite restaurant is Chili's so I take his opinion with a grain of salt! Also right next door is Victory Raw Bar (same owners) that place is also very nice and I believe the have 60 different tequila's. Both are definetly unique and worth while. You rarely find any place like them outside of the city. Now they are a little pricey, but well worth it. Plus one pot of mussels could definetly feed two people. Don't get me wrong they don't only serve mussels (they are just my favorite) they have a great menu and specials nightly.God now I'm hungry I wish I was there now.

I will definitely second Victory and Waterzooi in Garden City. The food is fantastic and the decor/atmosphere is perfect for a night out with friends.

Tai Show - Japanese (Levittown, Massapequa and Oakdale) They have really cute little Tatimi rooms. It's like sitting on the floor japanese style but you can sit normal and your feet go under the table. You must make reservations to get one of the rooms. It is always really busy.
