Re: Am I being selfish?

Can I ask, has this been in the works for a while or just a recent surprise? I think any time a change comes into someone's life, and marriage is a big change, that it can be difficult for all involved.
I am sure your parents still love you, and your wedding day is yours to be the star, but if your parents want to help someone else that is really wonderful too. I don't think it is selfish for you to feel the way you do. If you have no siblings it is a natural tendency to feel like you would be 'replaced' by a sibling; but parents can love more than one child. Have you discussed with them why they feel they want to adopt so close to your wedding? And you could possibly remind them that soon enough they may have grandchildren to dote over.
