We've been dating since I was 15 ( I am now 21) so we have went on vacations together and I sleep at his house he sleeps at mine...Our families get together for holidays....We all get along thank god...they are annoying, but whose inlaws arent?

They havent met yet. My mom made an ovation to his family to congratulate them when we first got engaged but nothing since then. I know itis because my father has been ill and its just not an easy situation.

We were dating for 7 years before we were engaged and managed to keep them apart for 5 years just because we knew they were totally different.

We had a few dinners together and informal gatherings until the night my parents had them over for dinner to talk about the wedding last month. His father thought my mother was begging for money, my mom thinks he's a jerk for not treating his 2 children equally. It's hard to disagree with her.

A lot depends on whether or not he plans to stick to his plan of not paying for anything besides the DJ at the wedding, but it's safe to assume they'll never be pals after that dinner.

My parents find FFIL to be obnoxious, bossy and rude- although my mother has always gotten along well with FMIL. I don't really promote them 'hanging out' because my parents are alot more mellow and easygoing and I don't want to torture them

My parents and my MIL get along great. We all go shopping together and we do dinner alot together.
My father and my father in law would ahve gotten along really well, unfortunately my FIL passed away before they were able to meet.

My FILs only get along with other people like them (which is to say completel psychos), so no, absolutely not. We've had them over for hilday dinners a few times, but the ONLY time they had my parents over was one day on FH's birthday ;last year and FMIL was hinting that they should all go back to MY MOM's house for cake, and I pulled her aside and I said It's YOUR son's birthday, and I said she has her ddaughter's in laws over all the time, and she said something about wanting to impress my parents and blah blah and I told her to can it (nicely though) and that she should be the one hosting the cake and coffee since it was HER son's birthday.

Our parents get along VERY well. WE all get together often and sometimes they get together..My FIL's are very similiar to my parents..so I knew they would get along great!

we have been dating for 3 yrs have never offically met talk on phone etc.....but my family is not from here they will all meet next month at my shower upstate

After we got engaged, my parents invited them over for dinner at our house. We had a great time!

our parents met shortly after we started dating, few months, and they became pretty close, we have had holidays together (which makes life easier for us) and our moms have gone away for weekends together without us... i like it cause they get along well
