I feel she did overstep her boundaries! It is wonderful that she wants to be part of the planning & wants to help but she needs to consult with one of you first! I think the best thing for you to do is sit her down & have a conversation about your feelings. She needs to be aware that you are happy she is helping but would appreciate if she spoke with either FH or you prior to making any final decisions!
I would have reacted the same way as you too! Put her in her place now before things escalade to a higher level

Re: FMIL VENT!!!!
Yes that is out of control. I dont know what it is with in-laws. Why cant they just let things be? My FMIL is insane. I dont even want to get into it because serious, I would be writing a novel. With that said, I know how difficult it is to try to plan the wedding YOUR way when shes putting her two cents in it. Listen just remember to do things YOUR way. She will eventually get over it. Let her know how you feel, and how although you appreciate everything shes doing, you would rather do it on your own with your FI.

Re: FMIL VENT!!!!
Yes she did overstep our boundaries. It is so sweet that she wants to help out with everything but she has to be aware that you have to make the decisions. You can simply tell her nicely that you would like to see the place that she booked so that you and FI can make a final decision on whether or not u want your RD to be there.

Re: FMIL VENT!!!!
FMILs kill me. I think yours totally went overboard. I had no problem with my fmil before we were engaged but it was like the minute I put the ring on she became a pain in the a$$. What is even more precious is how she thinks she doesn't voice her opinion is our wedding. No she only voices her disapproval once we have already made decisions. An example was our start time for our reception. I compromised but refused to completely give in to her demands. And now she wants to add people to our bridal party. My advice is to definitely voice your feelings as nicely and politely as you can. Perhaps have your fiance do it. But you cant let this ladies have everything or imagine how your life is going to be cause you know they'll never be completely happy by what you do anyway.
