I just started NuvaRing since my gyno suggested I don't go on the patch. I have never been on any type of BC so at first I had some mood swings but I seem steady now in the 2nd week.
There are many other brands of BCP. I needed to try 4 different types until I found one that I didnt spot with.
Ortho Tri Cyclen

BUT it is expensive- my insurance copay for this med. is $40 for a 1 month supply.

Re: Birth Control Help
I use Ortho TriCyclen. My insurance doesn't cover it, so it's $40 a month! The pharmacist gave me the generic brand for $10, which made me spot all the time!
I went back to Ortho TriCyclen and now I am all better. $40 is a small price to pay, if you don't want to bleed everyday, and you don't want children.

try ordering from expressscripts or another mail order pharmacy sometimes this saves you money on copays!

I had the same problem, and pay for the OrthoTriCyclen. Mine would actually be something ridiculous like $150 a month if insurance didn't cover it at all, so $40, little over a dollar a day, is a small price to pay IMO.

My FSIL uses the ring...she says she likes it a lot and will never go back to the pill.

Late reply!
I had my first month free with that offer on the website. I am hoping that it's only $25 a month from now on with my Empire insurance. $40 is wayyyy too much.

sorry, another late reply!!
I don't feel it at all, it's really great that I don't have to think about it and yet can remove it at any time.

Was it Sprintec? (spell?)
To tell you the truth, I have no clue! It was in a yellow casing (like that's going to help)

Re: Birth Control Help
Make an appt. with your doctor. Tell him/her that you are spotting, they will recommend another type of BCP...I had the same problem...I just went this past Friday and I am on my 3rd BCP. I hope this one works for me!
