I am in charge of the NJHS in our school and we did a 'Night at the Movies' raffle last year and raised 1600 dollars! And that's in a school of only 100 kids! We had 3 $50 gift certificates to Loews and a basket with a DVD, candy and popcorn that we raffled off. The kids LOVED it.
I would check out www.nhs.org
That's the National Honor Society website and they have GREAT fundraising ideas.

Re: School FUNDRAISING ideas...
You could do an auction..either auction off items or in my old school they did an auction where you bid on time with certain teachers...they would take you out to lunch, or bowling etc

Re: School FUNDRAISING ideas...
what we are doing at work to raise money for the KAtrina fund, is letters to children from Santa...
We have sent out a checklist for 5 pesonal things about the children-age, best friends name, favorite activity, gender, and if they have a chimney
and 2 weeks before xmas, we will mail them out.

Re: School FUNDRAISING ideas...
Some of the fast food places have a program where they have a school night. They do it for my niece and nephew's school. I know Wendy's does it and all you do is give people flyers ahead of time to come to that Wendy's for dinner on a scheduled day and time. People order as they normally would and hand over the flyer or whatever and the school gets a certain percentage of the sales from the people who came for your school.

Re: School FUNDRAISING ideas...
i think one of the most successful fundraising ideas that i have seen is a garage sale... every one in the community and school district can donate stuff and then have a garage sale... instead of prices tell people everything is by donation... you end up getting more $$ that way... one of the elem schools raised so much money for the tsunami and i think they just donated the left over stuff to a charity, or had a dumpster on stand by for the left over junk... it was amazing to see all the community members lined up outside the school waiting for the sale to open!!
