Re: Ten Days Until My Wedding ... AND ... A Very Close Friend Has Not Yet RSVPed!!!!

HOw does she not know whether she's bringing a guest 10 days before your wedding?!?! I find that ridiculous and very rude! I'm so sorry you're dealing with this kind of stress. If it were me, I'd just put her down as one and explain to her that you had to give your hall the final number and seating chart.

I had that happen - maybe not the 10 day thing, but alot of my single guests waited till the bitter end to reply if they were having trouble finding dates.

I would put her down as one.

OMG - I just got an IM from her that said that I should put her down for one since it's 'such a hassle.' QUOTE]

WOW!

Good for you for keeping your cool. I really don't know if I would have handled it that well!

What do I do?

I invited a good friend of mine with a guest. She has not yet rsvped because she says that she does not know if she is bringing anyone yet. IT IS TEN DAYS BEFORE THE WEDDING!

I have called her, IMed her, emailed her, etc... and have told her that my numbers have to be in and she is holding up our finalizing our seating and placecards.

What do I do? Should I just put her down as coming alone but make sure her table isn't full so another chair can be put there if necessary?

Why do I have to worry about this a week before my wedding?

The EXACT same thing is happening with my good friend. Now I find out that she's just lost her job and feeling really really down. She won't call me back and I don't think she's even coming to my mini-bachelorette tomorrow night. I ended up just putting her down as she doesn't have a boyfriend. There are 11 people at a table for 12, so if necessary, we can squeeze another in

ETA: I just saw what she replied!!! What a nerve

She has known my wedding date for a year. How is it such a hassle that I need my final numbers? Did she not get the rsvp card that had the rsvp date of Sept 18th?

I IMed her back and said I put her down for one but if that changes, then I put her at a table for 11 so another chair could be added.

Why all the drama from people?

Dude! YOu need to put your foot down with this chick. IF she's a good friend, she should seriously settle down. She should be EMBARRASSED that she hadn't rsvp'd yet and apologizing profusely to you. You are a very sweet person to be so accomodating to her, but this is a friend who clearly needs some very definite limits set for her. It's YOUR DAY!!! She really needs to treat the event and you with much more respect--which you most certainly deserve!

WHAT?? No offense, but what a beyotch! Everyone who has ever been to a formal party of any kind knows that people have to 1. submit final #’s to the hall and 2. have placecards printed up.
