I picked mine up right when it came in (that was back in September). It is in my closet now, wrapped up in a sheet. I will bring it somewhere else for alterations in January

Re: David's Bridal?
I picked up my dress (from a different salon) in June and stored it for 3 months in the garment bag it came with in my closet. I left the zipper on the bag slightly open and it was fine for 3 months until I brought it over to my seamstress.
some dresses only take a few months to come in.

Yes, it's normal - David's doesn't store dresses. My dress was in a closet at my parents' house for months.
Happybride's right about the garment bag, and in addition I'd like to mention that David's suggests getting a large white flat sheet and wrapping your dress in it to prevent yellowing.

Re: David's Bridal?
They did this to a friend of mine back in march and her wedding isn't for another month. She didn't buy the garment bag and just left it in the plastic. Dress is 100% perfect just make sure that you leave it with some space so it isn't all crammed in.
