You can do it through the Diocese, just as long as you get your certificate of completion to give to your church.
Usually the pre-cana hosted by the Diocese will be more expensive than the Parish sponsored ones.

you may be able to do pre-cana at the parish, but since your wedding is so far away, they are going to put you in the coming up classes because those will most likely be for the spring wedding. Ours was 5 weeks. I took it at FI's parish because my parish, the one where we are getting married, didn't have enough married couples to run it.
