how far before the wedding date do you put the rsvp on the invitations?

Usually a month, but some people put it 6 weeks before.

i'm going to do it at least 6 weeks prior cause i know my family and i'm going have to make calls to half of them anyways

i'd say about 6-7 wks. it gives you enough time for you to make all the phone calls to your rude guests who won't return the RSVP, and you'll have contact them personally. it stinks that people don't realize you need the RSVP in the mail!!!

Depends When does you hall need the final headcount Ours said the week before the wedding. I would back out a two - 3 weeks from the hall's final due date (to allow time to chase down non responders) and make the RSVP date around then - so at least 4 weeks before the wedding
