Re: Diets

I've been doing weight watchers now for a little over a month. I jumped into it hard core on the first of jan, but really started cutting down before that. I have lost 12 pounds already and am soo excited!!!

Its very inexpensive and is a healthy way to lose weight. Not to mention, a fantastic lifestyle change you could get accomadated to

Re: Diets

wow, Nina, that's awesome!!!!

Its a little expensive though!

If I just got off my butt and exercised, I'd be my goal weight in no time.

BUT THERE'S JUST NO TIME! It's 12am, I'm exhausted after a 15 hour day (school AND work), and I JUST can't get my body to move!

Re: Diets

Yeah I know it *****.
I get exhausted too. So I have been slacking on the excercising, but eating a little better or less points than normal if I don't excercise.
and then when i'm doing homework, sometimes i'll take a ten minute break and do some crunches or leg lifts, just fit a little something in....

I'm dreaming of being a size 6 or small 8 for the wedding

Re: Diets

Thats exactly my philosophy!!!

But my doctor also put me on the diet. I'm 5'5 but if I told you my weight you would Well you would when I started the diet. I am one of those people that when I told people how much I weighed, they did not believe me. Maybe I wear it well..but I definitley gained too much over the past couple of years.

So.....40 lbs I must lose...doctors orders

Re: Diets

I know what you mean! I'm 5'0, so there's not too much space for my weight to be distributed! I used to be a size 2 and I wish I could be that skinny again!

Re: Diets

40 is my goal too!!!! I'm only 5'2', so even 20lbs makes a huge difference. I didn't start yet though

Strict dieting starts 5/23/06 - that's exactly 1.5 years pre-wedding.

If I told you how much I weigh, I think you'd be surprised! Its a LOT higher than I think I look, anyway....

OH I know that feeling girlfriend!!

Whats funny is that I know people larger than myself, and weigh less than me. I never understood it. And I mean, considerable larger than me. Now I'm not talking that I'm able to shop at like..lets say..Lane Bryant yet, but my pant size is definitely towards the back of the rack if you know what I mean.

So sad to say when I weighed in this last time beginning of december. I was like I way how much It almost sounded masculine to me, so thats what got me going

I am craving McDonalds something serious right now though

I started WW last september and lost 25 pounds.. over the holidays i went off and didn't gain but then i never went back on so on it all came
Needless to say this time I have more motiviation then ever and I am back on as of last week when I finished being sick from a stomache virus. I lost 7 pounds from that and figured with a jump start from that why not...
I don't go to meetings though cause it's too expensive, I have the books from last time and bought myself a scale which I faithfully weigh myself once a week. So far I've lost 2 pounds but i've only been on about a week so it'll come off.. Goal - another 20 pounds!!
Then dress shopping

A few years ago I tried the Body for Life diet (it is a book). It totally changed my eating habits. It really works.

The book is called 'Body for Life: 12 Weeks to Mental and Physical Strength'

I also had orders from the dr - but I have a thyroid prob which I am trying to fix (have an appt next week w/ specialist)

It really sux bc now that I know I have this problem - it makes me wonder how much more weight I could be losing ...

Re: Diets

I just started Jenny Craig this past Sunday and so far I love it. I get to eat everything and all of my meals and snacks are planned out for me. Plus, I have to meet with someone every week to see how I'm doing and if I have any questions- I think this will really help me stick with it.

Nina..I have about 40 pounds to lose as well and I'm only about 5'1''. I never knew I had that much to lose.

Re: Diets

Started WW and it got to crazy for me. I just eat better. Drink tons of water and I've upped my exersize. So far 10 pounds and my pants now have room. I have about 20 to go, but I should really lose 10 more for the charts. At that weight I'm a big 10 or a small 12. I'm 5'7 medium-large framed.

I'm concentrating more on the exersize part of my plan right now since it makes me feel better and stronger. My doc wants me down about 20 more pounds and says to get stronger. Being stronger physically helps you stay healthy. Resistance exersize is good for your bones (girls, we have to keep our bones strong) and if you are physically strong-pregnancy and giving birth is easier.
