Well he isn’t a psycho, but he is way too persistent. He calls our apartment every once in a while and hangs up the phone when we answer. He isn’t a stalker, he is just needy. But I have no desire to speak to him, but part of me would like to tell him to stop trying to contact me, but I feel like that is opening the door, no communication is better. DH agrees.


You just answered the question. The guy is calling you and hangs up. That's not just an old flame who found out about you in classmates.com and emailed to ask 'what's up?' 'long time no see'. That's not needy in my eyes. Neither does it sounds 'normal'. You dated him many many years ago.

I would not talk to him. Anything you say would start opening a communication like you said.

He still seems a little stalker-ish! He needs to give up and leave you alone. I wouldn't even bother to respond, either. I have an ex like that. He'd call me every now and then, and a couple of times he said he'd driven by my parent's house to see what they're up to or if I'm visiting them. He used to stalk their house a lot more- I think he's finally given up after 14 years. Still creepy, though!!

Does he know you're married?

How odd As soon as I got married a few weeks ago...my ex from 5 years ago emailed me through hi5...
He cheated on me also...initially I emailed him cos I was estatic about my wedding and couldnt help but be elated but now come to think about it, its was not worth it...ceasing communication as I too believe its inapropriate to be in contact with the 'past'...

lol my ex was so depressed b/c he thought we would take a 'break' and then get back together and he wouldn't lose me b/c we had been together for three years but i met FH and fell instantly so that was that with the ex-- since then, he has lost over 100 pounds, hardly eats, is depressed all the time-- YIKES!! i can't feel bad, he kissed another girl and never appreciated me-- so it was meant to be for me to find FH.
