Many of us know how you feel. My FMIL is trying to plan the whole wedding. She thinks she knows my taste, but she does't at all. I have the reverse situation as she is trying to push us to spend even more than we want.
You and FH need to set limits with the FMIL, although it is easier said then done. Good luck1

Just remember it's your day!!! They had theres already!!! It's now your turn. And if you want to spend your $$ on the wedding of your dreams, go for it!!! Just ignore them. It's just the begining and it will get worse if you don't ignore them. I have learned that already.

Most people who have been married for a few years I am finding that their overall opinion is spend your money elsewhere. I think its because its a been there done that scenerio.
I wouldn't get nuts with the wedding where you are going to broke for 5 years afterwards but deff. have your day.

Your FMIL Probley is having a hard time seeing you spend soo much money on one day, b/c in her eyes there is so many other things you can spend the $$ on...
However since it's your hard earned $$ she should not tell you where or how to spend it

i tol the FH that i'm not going to be able to deal... lol he said he's just not going to tell her details anymore, and that the day of when she starts bitching, he's going to say, 'it's what we wanted' lol ... because she is not going to listen to those words right now from us ..

aw Im sorry..I kind of know how you feel..when my FMIL found out I was having it at the watermill she said 'why are you having it out so far east?, theres alot of oot people coming'...#1 I didn't think smithtown was even that far (im in islip) and also my church is here is west islip and the guests are going to have to drive out this way anyway!! grrrr..ultimately you need to do what makes you happy, forget everyone else! Its your day!!!

Yeah I know how that is...everyone's pissing and moaning at me that we are considering it so far, but most of them are in western nassau....honestly its your wedding and do what you want...I laid down the law and told everyone the ahll is not up for negotiation with the gen pop...LOL![]()
