That is totally rude!!! Did your FH see the card yet? If not I would throw it out and hope he never asked if you got one.

Re: How rude!
I would call the bride/groom and just let them know that your FH really helped with their gift. I agree that is very rude. Maybe if he was a guy-off-the-street kinda date that you just brought with you, but your FH should be thanked.

Re: How rude!
That is rude! I live with my fiancee and we just got an invite to a friend's 30th birthday party and his girlfriend sent the card to Keith AND GUEST!!! I was so angry. Last year when I threw Keith a party, I made sure to call this friend of his to get this girl's last name before sending out his invite. I know her, so even if she was too lazy to find out my last name she could have at least used my first name!
Sorry Debbie, I meant to sympathize with your vent, but needed to vent a little myself.

Re: How rude!
I do think it is rude, but did they think it was a shower gift by any chance?
I had a tough time determining who to address shower thank yous to people who signed their name and their husbands...and decided only to do the wife's name...

Re: How rude!
aug9bride that is so funny! but yes that is totally rude, but some people are like that. some people don't even send thank you cards or get their friends a birthday card like one of my bridesmaids did. Today is my birthday and she called me and didn't even say 'Oh I got you a card or a little something'!!! And trust me I won't get anything from her either...Uggh!!! She is cheap! Sorry I added my vent to this post but some people just have very little class!

Re: How rude!
I had a similar thing happen to me, only it was a birthday party. Both of our names were on the gift, and the thank you came addressed to me, and on the inside it said Dear Jen!! Not only that, but the card was from my MOH, Im pretty sure she knows my FH's name. PS - I did throw the card away immediately, I didnt want to hurt his feelings.

Re: How rude!
My FH and I just got an invite to a rehearsal dinner for a wedding that he is in.....His bestfriends! And they have lived near each other since they were infants...and the invitation was to 'FH & Guest' I was flabbergasted...didnt even know how to react...I thought it made the sender look silly...considering our wedding is in a month..and they clearly know my name. People just dont think half the time....

Re: How rude!
Its not that people don't think, its that they just can't be bothered. They probably waited until the last minute to send out the invites and didn't have the time or real inclination to get the spelling of your last name. THe same thing happened to me before I was married for a family event on my husband's side. It really is rude and kind of hurtful, depending on how well you know the people.

Re: How rude!
We also got a thank you card from a wedding addressed only to my FH. Both of our names were in the card we gave them with the monetary gift. Obviously they just tossed all the cards without taking the time to see who gave them what. I was annoyed too. I think it was very rude!
