Re: a thought

if you have a large enough bridal party you can have some guys stay up front and only have 2 ushers ushering everyone to their seats and have the girls walk down alone, or have two men you are close with but who is not in the bridal party ush your guests to their seats and have the groomsmen all at the front... this is how a friend of mine did it.. and it worked out really nice

I am so sorry your family is going through this.
I think you should ask him what would make him the most comfortable. He may not feel akward going down the asile with everyone, and if he does you can include him in deciding where he would like to be.
Don't let his illness change how you feel about him. I 'm sure he verywants to be a part of your special day.
Your day is a while from now, you have a lot of time to decide. I would wait till spring. You don't have to decide now. I wish you and your family much luck.
Hope I was helpful.

Debbie,
He may feel hurt if you ask him to stay upfront? I don't think anyone would gawk at him, if they do, they have a serious problem.
He should be able to 'walk' down the aisle anyway he can, wether it be on crutches, a walker, or a wheelchair.
Perhaps ask him how HE would feel most comfortable when the times comes.
This is your day however, someones feelings are at stake, and he may not have many years left, make him feel special that day no matter what it takes. Life is too short, make him feel happy.I just wanted to ad that I will keep him in my prayers. I feel awful about his illness

I agree with everyone. My husband lost his brother to cancer 3 months before our wedding. We would have done anything to have him be with us that day. Ask him what he wants. He may not want to be different from the other ushers. When we thought of moving the wedding up so his brother could be with us. It was unheard of because his brother felt that everyone would know that the change was because of him. How ever he feels comfortable let it be. Make sure you give him the option though and he is in my prayers.

I would have all of the men stand up front and have just the women walk down the aisle. One thought however. If his cancer gets very serve you may want to consider having a very small ceremony in your home and include your FBIL. You can still have your big wedding later but I would want my brother to be there on my wedding day.

I am sorry for what you are going through. Does this all have to be decided right now? Why not just not worry about it yet, this is something you can decide weeks before your wedding right? You have 9 or 10 months to go.

First of all, Im so sorry you, your FH, FBIL, and family are going through this.
I agree with some of the other girls on this to let him decide where he would be most comfortable. You dont want to hurt his feelings by making his role 'different' from the other groomsmen, but also if he feels he isnt up for the spotlight, he could choose to not walk down the aisle. I would really talk to him about it when it is time to make a decision.
