Re: Happy, had to share!

Congrats...as far as the halls go, it all depends on what you like, what is great to one person is not to another...Some people like it on the water others dont, and the decor too, some people like the wood and country look others like the opposite.

OUt of all those I have only been to CLM so can't really compare

That's great news!!!

I've heard very good reviews on all 4 of those halls so you've made good choices so far on what to check out!! Out of those I've only ever been to clm though so I don't have much advice. Good luck!

Congrats!! Your guest list seems MUCH MORE manageable now. Just to let you know, George Washington Manor I have heard great things about but I think it tops at 150 ppl...double check but I didnt look there because I heard that. Also, Sans Souci I did look at and I KNOW it would be too small for that size crowd. It's a beautiful place, but you have to have the cocktail hour outside if you want it in a different location than the reception and if it rains, you are in trouble (unless you rent a tent). The room is beautiful and I think they could hold your size but some people would have to be seated in another little room off to the side with no view of the dance floor and a little view of the rest of the guests. Just letting you know. I visited CLM and it was great! It was on my list but I fell in LOVE with the BYC and it can hold a large group too.

If you need anything else - I checked out about 20 places, so feel free to ask questions!

We looked at Milleridge Cottage and it is small. Nice but small especially for that amount of people! They have good prives though! I had my Sweet16 at CLM 6 years ago!!! GOOD CHOICES, GOOD LUCK!

thanks! You are more helpful than the people on the phone! Sans Souci told me 200 was OK!

Also, Since we are inviting 187, but at least 30 are not close family and out of state, i think we will end up with 150 attending... i hope!!

I can guarantee you that 200 is NOT okay. I am expecing 160ish and when I was there it was set for 110 and it was pretty full (except for the other SMALL room that can hold maybe 2 tables.). Good luck. Check out Westbury Manor, Crest hollow CC, and Fox Hollow CC, they can all easily hold that amt of people easily and have nice grounds.

the milleridge cottage is where i had my prom in high school...it's actually pretty big, it can fit like 300+ (the carriage house is smaller), they do 1 wedding at a time. It's really nice and pretty, but we didnt book there b/c my FH felt like the cielings were a little low. also, the lady who showed us around didnt make us feel excited about it.

Yeah alot of times the RH will tell you they hold more than they really should hold. Yeah they can squeeze them in i am sure but who wants it to be that crowded and people on top of eachother.

Same thing happened when I went to see CLm for the wedding, they said they can hold 300 guests, which was out for us anyways because we are inviting more than 300. But the day we went they were setting up for a party of 180 guests and honestly I could not imagine them putting almost double that in the room, the tables would've gone further back, and after that it gets narrow and the people would feel too left out.

Thats funny because that is the first thing i looked at-The ceilings...If a ceiling was too low then that's it, it was out lol.

I agree as well. Thats why I ruled CLM out because I didn't want to guarantee 175 for the downstairs room...the upstairs room's ceilings were way too low. It felt cramped in the room.

Re: Happy, had to share!

I really think CLM has the most bang for the buck, you can work w/them for the big room. I agree that small room is not even worth considering. But they can accomodate you in the big gorgeous room, just ask!

Actually, milleridge cottage is HUGE! We are having the minimum amount they allow because our wedding is on a Sunday and I am very nervous that the room will look empty. I think it holds up to 375
