Re: To veil or Not to veil?
I don't have any pictures, but if you really don't want to wear a veil, then don't
I know I want to wear a veil and personally would feel like something is missing if I didn't wear it, but I've seen lots of pictures of brides that just used hair jewelry - doesn't make you any less a bride!

Re: To veil or Not to veil?
I am wearing my veil for the church and cocktail hour, but I am definitely taking it off for the reception. I bought nice pins to place in my hair for after the removal of the veil. I want to dance without it in my way.

Re: To veil or Not to veil?
I am wearing a veil for the ceremony because my mom just about had a heart attack when I told her I didn't want to ( she's been great about the rest of it, so I am giving her this one thing).... I bought a really pretty antique looking comb that I will have in the back of my hair for the rest of the time (prob half back)

If you don't want to wear a veil, don't wear one! You will NOT be 'JUST a girl in a white dress.' No way!
Besides, most brides take off their veil for the reception, anyway...
Do what you want and what you're comfortable in - it's your day!
I think a pretty tiara or a really nice hair clip would be really pretty.

Re: To veil or Not to veil?
oh check my album i was very anti veil .. but my mom fell in love with one... (that phyllis put on me) and that was that the only request that i wear it for a little bit (like 10min was all she was asking for)
im doing hair down... and will def be takign it out but it will make for a cute set of pics in the cermony or something
check for lower cost ones if you dont want to wear it for a long time... go to phllis and barrons tricounty
good luck!

Re: To veil or Not to veil?
I also thought my mom was going to have a heart attack when I said I didn't want to wear a veil! Turns out the church may require one, so I may see if I can borrow one from a friend for the ceremony. Definitely not wearing one for the reception though.

Re: To veil or Not to veil?
I think I'm going to wear my hair half up/half down, with a tiara. I think I'll wear a quite plain veil on the back of my head, fixed underneath the pulled back hair. Not over my face or anything, but enough so that I've got a veil on. I might get silk veiling then, I like the look as long as it's not over the face.

Re: To veil or Not to veil?
To each his or her own I am wearing a veil for the ceremony and I intend to wear it for our first dance . . . haven't decided exactly when I will take it off but it will come off sometime during the reception
What do you mean about being just 'the girl in the white dress'

Re: To veil or Not to veil?
I was going the anti veil route for a while, (along with anti poofy dress too) but I was shocked when I tried on a ridiculously long veil (my dress doesnt even have a train). It felt fun, like I was wearing a bed sheet over my head it cant be that bad...
