OMG I totally LOVE IT! I was thinking of doing a red gown but decided on a light gold Maggie - I consider non traditional because it is not any shade of white...

There is another bride that is having a red gown. I think it looks beautiful. Davids Bridal has a gown very similar to that.

Alfred Angelo does a lot of that.

These gowns are in style right now. As are wearing color shoes instead of white.

I think in another 5 years, etiquette will be what you want.

I love the color accents. I was in love with the Alfred Angelo red and green one but when I tried it on I the white was better for me. I am so fair the color even though it was a little bit drowned me. but I really don't feel that there is a criteria of traditional and non-traditional.

Re: Non-traditional Gowns

David's and Alfred Angelo both have dresses like that with lots of color. Also, you can always do the big colored sash thing. I love color on a wedding dress, and I was planning on having a sash--probably navy blue--but the gown I fell in love with doesn't look right with a sash. Or so I think, I haven't actually tried it yet. I bought quite a bit of wide navy ribbon at M&J trim in Manhattan, I figure I can always use it for something else for the wedding, such as the bouquet wraps, if I don't use it as a sash. Also, Alvina Valenta's gowns come in a lot of different colors, but they're still all pale shades of ivory, gold, pink and blue. To get my color infusion, I'm having my shoes dyed navy, and I'm going to have blue sapphire crystals in my headpiece. And the bouquet wrap.

Good luck!
