i know there are a bunch of girls who have met their FH's and DH's through that service and other online services. if you do a search there might even be an offical thread of some sort. i have a friend from school who is using eharmony and has had good experience with her dates so far.

I met my guy on eharmony. He fell head over heels on the first date...maybe even before...and it took me another three months to get there. But once I did, I really did!

About five months ago, I started closing out all of my online accounts that I just didn't use anymore, and we both closed our eharmony together, as a big ole farewell to single life. I read his personality profile and the one that states what kind of person would be well suited to his personality, and it was 98% me. Scary, actually.

I went on there once to see who they would pair me up with, but apparently I fell into the category of 'unmatchables.' Only about 80% of applicants find a match according to them.
I think the couples on their commercials look exactly like each other.

I did eharmony for awhile but they limited your matches......I then went to match.com and met my husband...who btw was also on eharmony and we were never matched!

I did! DH was one of my first 'matches' and in a lot of ways seemed like the male version of myself. We were both in love before we met in person, about two months after we were 'matched.' He moved in 7 months later, and were married a little under 2 years of knowing each other. He is my true soul mate...and I thank goodness I bit the bullet and did the online dating thing. It was the first site I tried...and my friends were going to do it for me if I didn't. When we started dating we realized we had a lot of differences too (thank god - gotta keep things interesting!) but believe the site helped me find someone who truly had my same core values, aspirations, etc. I've heard people have lots of unsuccess with eHarmony and other online dating sites, but am so grateful I was one of the lucky ones!!!!!

LaurenluvsTJ met her man there too!

I didn't meet FH on eharmony but we did meet online at another networking site like myspace. He saw my profile and pics and we chatted from then. When I met him in person for the first time, I knew he was the one!

I met DH through Match. I think N.Y.BRIDE also but there are plenty of others.

My boss's friend is actually not having much luck with eharmony.

For me, it was more expensive than other sites and I did not have that many match. I felt very limited in my choices.

I met my FH on an online dating site. He sent me a message first, but I'm not sure how he found me. I'll have to ask him, but he might not remember! I doubt we were 'matched' in any way other than by age, a few interests, and geography.

But--what if eHarmony doesn't think you're a good match? I think it's pretty expensive to sign up, too. Go out and have a romantic dinner, it's a better way to spend the money!

Yes, they can turn you down. I don't think they take people who are looking for casual dating, or at least who aren't looking to get married for a good long time. Like college students. I know they don't take gays. Or they didn't, I suppose hey might have recently changed their policy, but I don't think so, as their motive, as it were, is to match people for marriage. The founder is a very conservative Christian, and a lot of people on eHarmony are conservative Christians. Or were, it might be less these days since it's been so heavily advertised in the more general population.
